Kizhi Massage & Ayurvedic Treatments

Swedana therapies(kizhi treatments) also known as Pinda swedam or Pottali swedam is a medicated fomentation therapy wherein medicated powders, herbs are tied in pottali(cloth bags) & the body is massaged with these , the application of pressure varied according to the nature of ailment and the spot. This reduces the inflammation in the affected area thereby reducing muscle and joint pains.

Ela Kizhi Treatment

Kizhi is prepared using different leaves of medicinal plants and herbs along with medicated powders. It is dipped in hot medicated oil and applied to the body or affected area.

Njavara Kizhi Treatment (Shashtikasali pinda swedam) 

This kizhi involves cooked medicinal rice called njavara, blended with milk and herbs tied in a muslin cloth bundle and applied all over the body in a rhythmic manner. 

Podi Kizhi Treatment (Choorna pinda swedam) 

Podikizhi is a method of therapeutic sweating in which the hot  pottalis filled with fine medicated herbal powders are dipped in kashaya/oil is applied over the body or affected part  

Mutta Kizhi Treatment (Kukkudandapinda swedam) 

Mutta Kizhi is one of the ayurvedic treatment in which boiled egg yolks and medicated herbs are used and applied to the body after dipping in medicated oils.
